3 Easy Looks for the Stylistically Challenged Woman

Effortless Style
Are you that person that never knows what to wear, what to buy, or how to put an entire outfit together? If so, this is for you. By the time you're done reading this article, you'll be ready to step out into the world
and be fashion forward. Be prepared for heads to turn, jaws to drop, and messenger boys to ride their bikes into parked cars.
None of these items need to come from an expensive upscale store. All these items can be purchased from low end commercial stores like Walmart, Kmart, Wet Seal, or my all time favorite, Forever 21.

Look 1: The Skinny Hottie
Don't let the name of this look fool you, The Skinny Hottie has nothing to do with size. The first item is a basic color off the shoulder top that stops about 4-7 inches below your tailbone. Length of the top is at your discretion. The color of the top should be white, off white, black, charcoal or gray. Neutral colors will make for maximum effect. The top can be long sleeve or short depending on the weather.

The next item is a pair of skinny jeans. Skinny jeans come in all sizes, and despite all the chatter I've heard about skinny jeans being a bad idea for women of certain heights, I say skinny jeans are like the little black dress, they're for everyone! Get a pair in dark denim, this is also interchangeable with black or charcoal leggings.

Next, Is the topper to this outfit. Shoes! Find a pair of hidden platform shoes. Open or closed toe is fine. For fall to winter, try a pair of stylish ankle boots. Black is the easiest, but if you find another color that matches your chosen palette, go for it. For the daring, seek 4-6 inch heels, for the more timid, a regular 3 inch heel without platforms will work just fine.

No pointy toe shoes, they got on the train and went back home about two years ago. This look is complete, For cold weather just add a moto jacket, which is pretty much a fitted leather crop. Every woman should own one.

Look 2: The All Weather Dress
This is probably the most simple look. Purchase a fitted short sleeve dress. This can also be referred to as a pencil dress. It does not flare out, it's fitted from top to bottom and stops at about three inches above
the knee. Take note, the dress does not have to be a tight fit and length can be shorter or longer depending on how conservative you are. Basic colors only, or this can go very wrong for the style challenged. Add a stretched belt for additional style, or not for a more clean look.

This dress can be worn with the same shoes you already purchased for The Skinny Hottie as well as the moto jacket for cooler weather. In the winter, this dress can be worn with over the knee boots and a wool trench coat.

Look 3: Queen Of The A Line
For this look, all you need is an "A" line skirt (translation: tight at the hip and flares out), and a non jersey material top like chiffon or silk but pretty much anything but jersey. Top can be fitted or loose. It just needs to be tucked into the skirt. Skirt length can be from mid thigh to knee, depending on personal choice.
This same outfit can go with the moto jacket and heels already used in the two previous looks. For winter, same deal, throw on over the knee boots and a wool trench coat and you're all set.

All these looks work well with each other. The top in Look #3 can go with the skinny jeans in Look #1. So play with it. As long as you stay within this realm you're fine. You are now free to roam around the mall. Fashion forward.
